52 Flash Mobs
Nillumbik Council in collaboration with Vic Health and Regional Arts Victoria have launched a program to engage more community members in arts activities in around the area. With the local community still re-building after the devastating bush fires of 2009, 52 Flashmobs is a way to reach out and engage people to build back a sense of community, re-build relationships and provide people with an avenue of fun and activity.
Nillumbik council approached Lettuce to develop a highly interactive site that would support the ambitious plan of holding 52 Flashmobs in 52 weeks.
Design & StrategyFrom the get-go, everyone realised that trying to run 52 Flashmobs in 52 weeks was going to be tough. It would require supreme organisation and it would require a platform that would allow the organisers to manage large amounts of content while also providing the community with a set of “self-service” tools for signing-up and staying informed.
SolutionTo deliver this solution we rapidly built a platform pieced together by SaladBowl our simple CMS tool and IcebergHQ our CRM platform. Stitching these tools together, we delivered a platform that provides the capability to not only manage content, but provide site visitors a way to sign-up, log-in into the platform and enrol and participate in individual flash mobs.
With that information in IcebergHQ, communicating with those individual groups has become a breeze.
ResultsThe site has been a huge success, with programs well entrenched in the local community. The site has had hundreds of sign-ups and is being used on a daily basis to plan, coordinate and launch Flashmobs to an ambitious goal.
