Case Study - Umbrella

Umbrella Entertainment is an independently owned film distribution business in Australia. With an ageing website and a legacy production management system, Umbrella engaged Lettuce to help them devise and execute the redevelopment of their website whilst, redeveloping and updating their core production management solutions.

After developing a strategy and fresh platform architecture, Lettuce and Umbrella undertook a large project of change. With Umbrella's growth and success over the years, it had outgrown it's production management system, an organisation wide application used to mange every facet of launching a new title.

The initial project involved the redevelopment of the systems to improve the functionality and provide a strong platform for future initiatives.

The the next step in the project was the relaunch of the Umbrella website. With a growing emphasis on online sales, Umbrella's brief was for the development of a website to give visitors the power and flexibility to search and discover titles in Umbrella's vast catalogues. Additionally the website required a rich and functional Content Management Solution (CMS) to manage the marketing and promotional requirements of the site.

As with the production management solution, Umbrella's website gives them a strong platform for the next chapter in their success.
